Swiss Cheese Plant
Cheese lovers rejoice! This is the plant for you. Now don't get your hopes up, the Swiss Cheese Plant isn't actually edible - it is named this for the unique leaves that resemble (you guessed it) Swiss cheese. Be sure to keep pets and little ones away from it as this plant is toxic if eaten.
As you may have guessed from its name 'Monstera', this plant is a tall one. It's a fast grower and can reach heights of up to 3m, and it will need a moss pole in time as it is a climber. At Prickle, we recommend keeping it somewhere with plenty of room to grow, such as a hallway or large living room. As it grows, your Monstera Deliciosa will get aerial roots - if you're not a fan of this look you can trim them back.
In terms of cheese plant care, this Mexican native likes bright, indirect sunlight and warm temperatures (18-27°C) but it can handle as low as 13°C. Regularly water and mist your Fruit Salad Plant to keep it looking fresh.
At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your Swiss Cheese Plant questions @prickleplantsuk.
