African Milk Tree
There are no prizes for guessing where this Prickle Plant comes from. The Euphorbia Trigona Cactus, or African Milk Tree, is named not only for its African home but also for the milky sap that can be found in its stems. This Prickle Plant, quite literally, is prickly. It has thorns that grow in twos all along it - a reason to keep little Pricklettes away from this beautiful, but spiky, plant.
Like most cacti, the African Milk Tree loves it hot (anywhere between 15-27°C) and dry, so avoid misting this plant and dust its leaves regularly instead! It also doesn't need much water, so just water your cactus, when its soil, is dry or if it's spikes are dropping.
This tall, indoor plant loves the sun and needs at least 6 hours of sunlight a day, so keep it somewhere nice and bright. We think the perfect home for it is in your bedroom or living room. The African Milk Plant can grow to heights of 2m but, luckily, it takes its time in doing so as it is a slow grower - so it will be happy in most homes.
