Weeping Fig

Weeping Fig

The Weeping Fig, as you may have guessed from the name, is a bit of a sensitive soul. So you do have to give them plenty of love and attention. However, at Prickle, we think that the pretty Ficus Danielle tree is worth it.

When your Weeping Fig tree first arrives at your home, it may feel a little stressed out from the move, so it may shed some leaves as they adjust. Once they are settled, try to avoid moving them around the house as this can also upset them, they like the familiar.

They're fast growers and get to heights of 2m, so ideally find them a spot with enough space for your Ficus to grow. Avoid drafts and give them lots of bright, indirect sunlight for them to stay happy. While they won't be too upset with a small amount of shade, not enough light will make them sad and cause their leaves to droop.

Weeping fig care is a little more intense than some as they like to be watered little and often - too much water and they may lose some leaves. They also like to be fed twice a month during spring and summer. Coming from warmer countries in South Asia and Australia, your tall Fig Tree likes it nice and hot between 16-24°C. This peaceful plant isn't the ideal companion for children and pets as it is toxic to them.
